About the department

  • The Department of Respiratory Medicine was inaugurated on February 2021 in this institution. The Department of Respiratory medicine offers out-patient and in-patient care and aims to provide quality, accessible and affordable care in the field of Pulmonary medicine to all strata of people, Patients requiring day care and admission to the hospital are admitted to the 20 -bedded Ward.

Theory Classes:
Final MBBS - Phase III Part II : On 1st and 3rd Wednesdays - 11.00 AM to 12.00 Noon.

WORLD TB DAY OBSERVED AT GOVT.MEDICAL COLLEGE KRISHNAGIRI ON 24.03.2026

  • On the occasion of World TB Day, a sensitisation and awareness programme for Clinical doctors and Final Year MBBS students focussing on diagnostic advancements and Management strategies for Tuberculosis conducted at 6th Floor Meeting Hall in the hospital building of Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Krishnagiri.
  • Dean, Medical Superintendent, Vice Principal, District TB Officer (Krishnagiri), Resident Medical Officer graced the occasion with the participation of Faculties of Clinical Departments, Final Medical Students.
  • Dean stressed the need for reduction in TB deaths in the district by improving early diagnosis and effective management.
  • World TB day pledge in Tamil taken.
  • Faculties from the Department of Respiratory Medicine and District TB Officer spoke on the Diagnostic advancements in Tuberculosis, Management strategies for Tuberculosis and  NTEP Program.
  • The meeting concluded after the Question and Answer session.
