Department of Emergency Medicine

About the Department

Government of Tamil Nadu implemented the Trauma care network in June 2017 in the name of Tamil Nadu Accident and Emergency care Initiative (TAEI). Stroke, Myocardial Infarction, Trauma, Burns, Poison and PREM are the 6 Pillars of TAEI.

TAEI was started in Government Krishnagiri Medical College and Hospital as Level II centre in 2019. Later in 2021, facilitating the 150 MBBS students admission, Government of Tamil Nadu upgraded the existing TAEI program into Department of Emergency Medicine.

Since its inception, it has been dedicated to provide high-quality, immediate medical care for critically ill and injured patients. Our team of skilled emergency physicians, nurses, and paramedics operates 24/7 to deliver life-saving interventions, advanced diagnostics, and efficient triage systems. We are committed to enhance emergency care through education, research, and technological advancements to serve the community better.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide timely, evidence-based, and compassionate emergency medical care for acutely ill and trauma patients while fostering education, research, and community engagement to enhance public health and emergency preparedness.
